
My baby-daddy birthday is today, so happy birthday honey!!!! He really doesn't like celebrating birthdays outside of quiet family time, so that's what we'll likely do today. I'll probably cook his favorite meal, the kids and I will sing happy birthday, and we'll have cake and ice cream before we all watch a movie. The simple life, with lots of smiles and warm feelings. That's the one quality that I love about my husband, and it's his simple, no-hassle approach to life. He doesn't have to have a whole lot of "stuff" to be content. His family is very important to him, and that's enough to make him happy. Elated, I may say. If we all took the time to embrace and enjoy our family, we would all have a peaceful, solid family life that offered us more satisfaction than looking for false substitutes. You know, the pseudo-families we often build because we're looking for a substitute, a fill-in, a temp. No matter what kind of family you've got, with their weird idiosyncrasies and all, they're your family. Love them. Embrace them. Cry with them. Celebrate with them. Share with them.
